In 2002, I started to embark on my journey of self healing and natural living. I moved to the Gold Coast to study Massage Therapy. Learning about the human body opened my eyes to health and wellbeing and how connected the body really is within emotional, physical, and spiritual bodies.
I spent years learning different massage techniques, Yoga instructing, Kinesiology, Chakra Balancing, Reiki, Essential Oils and all mixed in with a large amount of personal development books. I learned natural ways of healing and steps to take to having a happy balanced life.
During this time My husband and I started a couple of businesses. Our most successful was a Driving School. I decided to help the business grow by doing a few days a week instructing. I wish I could insert an emoji of someone pulling their hair out! It was a very different experience for me . I had gone from occupations of healing and relaxation and mindfulness, to an all out stressful business! After a couple of years the stress levels started to take toll on my body. I was so busy with building this business, raising a young family and trying to balance work and fun, I became too busy to notice what my body required to stay healthy and calm.
I started feeling very anxious and agitated throughout the day. My patience levels dropped. I was always exhausted, And I was very jumpy. I was finding it very hard to focus as I started to get a lot of brain fog and I felt like I couldn’t think clearly enough to know how to look after myself. My hormones where unbalanced and I was experiencing extremely painful periods. I even had candida.
It’s amazing to think that this downhill spiral all started with not being inline with my true purpose and not being able to calm my stress levels. It just goes to show how much of an impact stress can have on your health.
I don’t know how I became so far removed from all the previous training that I had, but I came to the point where I needed to take some time, make changes and implement things into my lifestyle that would help me manage the unwanted stress and anxiety. If you would like to know more about the top 3 ways I managed the stress and anxiety in my life, you can access the information below.
It was at this point that I started my studies with Kinesiology and it is an understatement that it completely changed my life. I remember walking into class and sitting down, and not being able to sit still as I was so wiggly and jumpy and on edge. By the time I finished the course I was a different person. My nervous system had calmed down, my hormones were balanced, and my anxiety levels had dropped.
My life was back on track. The knowledge I gained through Kinesiology and balancing the Physical, Mental, Emotional, Nutritional and Spiritual aspect of the body was life changing for myself and for my clients.
